To start using ecrop’s platform for issuing and managing digital securities, you’ll need to complete the onboarding process outlined in this chapter. This involves setting up your account and completing the necessary KYC/AML procedures for associated individuals within your organization. This chapter covers the onboarding of your organization as an ecrop client.

Your Organization's Onboarding (via OmniPersona App)

  • Download OmniPersona: Download the OmniPersona mobile application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
  • Sign Up: Create an account within the OmniPersona app by providing your first name, last name, email address, and a secure password.
  • Create Your Legal Party Profile: Create a legal party profile representing your company within OmniPersona. You’ll need to provide information such as your company name, registration number, address, and other relevant details.
  • Contact ecrop for KYC/AML: Once your legal party profile is complete, contact ecrop to initiate the required KYC/AML procedures. This is a mandatory step for regulatory compliance and must be completed before you can create and manage assets on the platform.

KYC/AML Requirements for Associated Individuals

The KYC/AML process verifies the identities and assesses the risk profiles of all natural persons associated with your company. This includes:

  • CEOs: Chief Executive Officers of your company.
  • Shareholders: All individuals holding shares in your company, including beneficial owners.
  • Board Members (if applicable): Members of your company’s board of directors.
  • Other Controlling Persons (if applicable): Any individual exercising significant control over your company.

KYC/AML Process Details:

  1. Information Gathering: ecrop will gather necessary information from each individual. Be prepared to provide information such as full legal name, date and place of birth, nationality, residential address, proof of identity, source of funds, and any other information required by regulations.
  2. Identity Verification (PostIdent): Each individual will complete the PostIdent process, either through the OmniPersona app (using deep linking) or the PostIdent website. Even if you integrate the PostIdent SDK, ecrop still needs to interact directly with PostIdent to receive the verified data for full compliance.
  3. AML Checks: ecrop will conduct AML checks on each individual to assess their risk profile, which includes screening against sanctions lists, PEP lists, and other relevant databases.
  4. Shareholder Structure Transparency: You must provide complete transparency regarding your shareholder structure. If a company is a shareholder, the same KYC/AML process applies to that company recursively, until the ultimate beneficial owners are identified.
  5. Internal Review and Approval: After ecrop reviews the provided information and completes the AML assessment, your company will be formally onboarded.

Your Client Credentials and Authentication

After successful onboarding, you will receive a Client token (later used in the clientId field) that you can use to authenticate with our API. For Details see the authentication section.
